It's starting to get that nippy winter chill in the air and I could not be more excited. Winter weather before Christmas is so exciting, like a new page has been turned in a book. I love looking out my window on the first snow day, or lack there of in college, and seeing a blanket of snow that has appeared over night. It's crisp and its clean and its new. Bundling up to brace the winter weather in Iowa is a necessity. On Saturday we were able to check out the new Outlet Mall in Altoona and got a lot of Christmas shopping checked off our list. Some stores that had some great deals were Express, the Loft, Vera Bradley, and Francesca's. I highly recommend visiting if you haven't yet. You have to walk outside, so this time of year it is a cold shopping venture. I hate being cold just like the next person, but I also hate looking like an overstuffed marshmallow walking down the street. This is one of my favorite winter coats. I feel that this has a simple classy look to it that doesn't make you look like frosty the snowman all bundled up. The belt makes the coat tapper towards the waist then flare out towards the hips, which is perfect when you are wearing many layers underneath. I love the top part and how the collar folds over, giving it a bold look. This wrap coat is super chic and did not hurt the budget as well. I highly recommend fun coats like this throughout the winter to dress up any casual outfit, well maybe not sweat pants! Check out the outfit details below. Happy reading and LET IT SNOW.

Outfit Details:

Coat: I purchased this coat my sophomore year of college on sale for $70! I thought it was a great steal and is perfect for dressing up for work or to when I wear a sweater to class, rather than the boring puffer coat. Hereis the coat I bought and here is another option that I absolutely love!

Pants: These leggings are a hunter green and are perfect for fall. There will be another post to come with these in a fall outfit for Thanksgiving. I love using hunter green in outfits for fall to give it a more earthy tone. If you don't like colored leggings try using hunter green in a sweater with dark wash jeans.

Boots. Riding boots are a closet necessity that never goes out of style. I love these because they are super comfy and have held up over the years. My favorite riding boots are ones that lace up the back. I feel that the lace adds a cute detail to every outfit. These are great to throw on with a sweater and jeans on a breezy fall day.

Have a great week!
